Steel manufacturing imposes extreme demands on conveyor belts. The transport of the ore in raw or pellet form causes serious abrasion wear.

The high temperature of slag, pellets and coke also exact a heavy toll. Fenner Dunlop has for many years supplied conveyor belts for the steel industry.
